![]() | Centennial Celebration - August 7, 2010 |

This year marks the 100th year of service to the maritime community by the vintage tug, Sand Man. Following its 75 year working career on the waters of Puget Sound, the boat has now become a free, floating maritime museum. The Foundation has chosen August 7 as a day of celebration. There will be live music, honored guests, various community information resources, food booths, and even a few (short) speeches. Several sister tugboats will also visit for the event.
The day’s events will be held at the Olympia Port Plaza and dock which is located behind the Olympia Anthony’s Homeport restaurant. Food, drinks, and seating will be available all day. The fun will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will include the following activities:
10:00 am – 4:00 p.m. All Day – free tours of the Sand Man
10:00 a.m. Sand Man Day Governors Proclamation
10:15 – 11:30 am Music by “Urban Sage“
12:45 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Secretary of State Sam Reed - Recognition of honored guests, sponsors, and announcements.
